This graduate level program is designed for individuals interested in developing the skills required to provide alternative mechanisms to conflict resolution. Many people are realizing that an approach involving formal legal proceedings can be costly, time-consuming and, in many cases, ineffective.
PEC has learned that students develop negotiation, mediation, arbitration and communication skills through practice and interactive exercises, rather than lectures. The PEC ADR Post-Diploma program uses a combination of case studies, thought-provoking discussions, group exercises, lectures, demonstrations, and videos. The program is designed to be focused, practical and immediately applicable.
The program consists of ten courses divided into five content areas. They include; effective communication skills, the art of negotiation, mediation techniques, arbitration and training. The program will be offered on a full and part-time basis. A distance education version will follow.
