PEC has signed a partnership agreement with IFCR, an internationally accredited clinical research training and educational organization. To date this is India's first and only Canadian accredited post-graduate program in clinical research. The agreement will allow the program to be delivered in three existing campuses (Cochin, Mumbai and Pune) and includes plans to expand to more locations throughout the country. The organization graduates highly skilled specialists annually in clinical research – all of whom secure and agree to job offers prior to the end of their graduation. This agreement will allow the organization to continue its good work in this growing field.
The PEC curriculum includes six months of in house training in addition to six months of clinical practicum which covers US FDA, ICH, GCP, GMP, GLP guidelines as well as Canadian/ICMR guidelines in depth. The core courses covered under the syllabus include Research Methodology, Ethics, Project Management, Clinical Epidemiology, Computer Applications, TRIPS /IPR and Biotechnology. Research in areas like Cardiology, Diabetes, as well as other major disease areas of key importance to leading pharmaceutical, research, and health care groups in India.
